Officially launched in January 2006—Proactive Computing is a fairly new organization enabling computing assistance to both charities and non-profit making organizations alike. It specifically aims to help realize computing ambitions and help empower our clients with their Information Technology needs.

The company standards insist on the forward progression of our staff and also demands that all our engineers are trade qualified and registered. As such you can rest assured that we take our work very seriously, aim to deliver a quality product and will keep our staff trained in new technologies.  Additionally you can be sure that we will be professional enough not undertake work for which we are not qualified. In keeping with the philosophy of Proactive Computing - if we cannot help for any reason we will try to assist you through our contacts list the best way we can.

Proactive Computing also takes a great interest in the recycling and refurbishing of computer equipment. Ethics are a corner stone of the organizations philosophy, indeed one of the reasons for forming Proactive Computing is to enable charities, non-profit  organizations and qualifying individuals to have access to a reputable computer company that’s there to help them at affordable rates.

Most of the work currently carried out resides within the United Kingdom since the company is newly formed. However increasingly a good part of our work is coming more and more from overseas requests - with particular emphasis on Africa and new European Union membership Countries.

Our Trustee lineup consists of (Michael Lake) as the Technical Trustee of Proactive Computing. He has been around computers for nearly twenty years with skills ranging from Operations through to Senior Systems Analyst and IT Consultancy. Financial affairs and business guidance comes from our Financial Trustee a qualified,  registered and practicing Chartered Accountant with additional business skills and experience. The third member of the trustee board is our Engineering Trustee he is a Chemical Engineering MEng Undergraduate with Bath University and a seasoned computer power user, with particular interests within computer programming.

Proactive Computing aims to help charities etc save money by offering reduced price IT equipment and professional services. Therefore helping to reduce overheads and costs to such organizations allowing them to use their money on the causes they really were formed to do.

The company name comes from the fact that the company is ‘Proactive’ in working with our clients computing needs and additionally will go the extra mile to help them achieve their Computing ambitions. As of December 2006 ‘Proactive Computing’ evolved into a formal non-profit company limited by guarantee; and with a host of new projects and ideas lined up - ‘Proactive Computing (EU) Ltd’ was born.
